TRAFF THE WIZ

 

Traff (Brian) was born and raised in Troy, MT, a town in the deepest corner of the Northwestern Wilderness that is the Treasure State. He began making Hip-Hop with 4-Tracks, keyboards, bass guitars and lyrics along side his original Spare House Crew in high school when he was 14 Years old. 

When he arrived in Missoula, MT around the age of 19 he quickly linked up with his old partner who was attending school at the University, Twice Daily a.k.a. Nathaniel Daniel a.k.a. Claws Drawn. They had a group named DRKSD and it did great things that will forever be remembered. After Traff and Nate backpacked Europe in 2007 he ended up in Portland, OR and Traff went back to Missoula destined to put his State on the map of Hip-Hop. 

He always kept the Spare House name but ended up by luck, linking up with Shmed of Club Shmed Studios, Secret Powers, Weezer and Miller Creek. He helped Traff record, "Tellin' Me I'm Crazy" which the video that was created by, Chris Balboni, really caught the attention of people to help Traff expand his name. That song was put out on his very first solo album labeled "Revenge of the Spliff." He and Shmed continued for 5 years to make our album, "These Things Take Time" released in August of 2013. 

In between the Shmed years he was fortunate enough to become a member of Rezerected Records. [["Shadow Devereaux had the talents of someone I had never met or worked with before. He knew what to do." - Brian O'Neill]] Together their first creation spawned, "Traffghanistan" released on July, 4th 2012 and it did RezErected and Traff the Wiz much justice. Ever since then Traff really can't see himself anywhere else except for with the RezErected Tribe. 

Traff won the Zoo Music Awards in 2013 after the release of, "Traffghanistan" for the category of Best Hip-Hop and Spoken Word. [["I completely know I won that alot in part because of the hours spent by Shadow on it." - Brian O'Neill]] The Missoula Independent said Traff was a mix between Wu Tang and Talib Kweli. That is an array of rappers to be compared to. Traff is completely dedicated to his scene, friends, family and planet earth.
